Summer is just around the corner and this new release from Waffle Flower is full of fabulous products to celebrate summer and all those summer birthdays!
The Inquisitive Seagulls Die makes the cutest seagulls–perfect for a fun summer card. The background features the Wave Texture Die and ink blending with Distress Oxide inks in various shades of blue. I also splattered it with water to add to an ocean feel. I used my MISTI to curve a sentiment from the Inquisitive Seagull Stamp Set. These products are so fun and a great way to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
The Postage Collage Die found its perfect summer companion: the Postage Collage Beach Days Stencil. I love the etched layers on the stencils that let you know where to blend for sand, water, and sky. You can cut the stamps apart and create your own layout, but I chose to keep them together for a quick and fun card. I topped it off with some stamps from the coodinating Postage Collage Beach Days Stamp Set and a sentiment from the Subsentiments Shore Diecut. These products make me excited for warmer days ahead!
The Beach Tote Die is so fun and fabulous for a summer card! I used the previously released Tiny Dot Stencil to add a rainbow of dots to my beach bag. The Beach Tote also has an optional pocket die, which I’ve used to look like a magazine popping out of the beach bag. I used the coordinating Beach Tote Sentiments Stamp Set to add yellow stripes to the towel and a fun sentiment to the bag. The background is the new Happy Waves Panel Die. This card makes me feel ready for a day at the beach!
The Beach Umbrella Die-n-stencil makes creating multiple umbrellas a breeze! I chose to make six of the smallest size umbrella in a rainbow of colors. I inkblended the left side of the card with blue distress oxides. On the right side, I used a thin piece of cork “paper” for the look of sand. I topped it off with a sentiment from the Birthday Wishes Stamp Set. (I love that there is a coodinating die.) I think we all deserve a fun-filled day at the beach!
There is an extra suprise when you open up this card. Inside, I used a panel a bit smaller than my A2 card. Before adhering it to the panel, I used the Pocket Slots Die to add a pocket inside to hold a gift card and added another sentiment from the Birthday Wishes Stamp Set on top of the pocket. I love that the slot keeps the gift card from sliding around or falling out!

My first cards were a two-for-one set. I was able to use the layered stencil image to create both cards!
My next card features the Synchronized Swimmers Die and Stamp Set. I started by die cutting a panel a bit smaller than my card base using Scrapbook.com’s Nested A2 Rectangles Dies. Then I swiped the Oh Boy! Ink Pad over the panel until it was completely colored blue. I swiped part of another panel with the Something Borrowed Ink Pad. I die cut waves and droplets from this blue paper. (I die cut them a second time and glued the layers together for a little more dimension.) I swiped small sections of cardstock with Do-Si-Do, Samba, and Tiara and used those to die cut the pool floaty and swim bottoms. I used Concord & 9th Nectar cardstock for the legs. I arranged and glued all the diecut pieces onto my card base. I used a heat tool on the panel to make sure it was dry. Then I used anti-static powder on the top portion before stamping the “Hope your birthday is a splash” sentiment in Versamark Ink and embossing with Brutus Monroe Ultra Fine Alabaster Embossing Powder. I popped the panel up with Foam Tape on an A2 card base. I love the summery feel and those beautiful shades of blue on this card!
For my final card, I used the Beach Blankets and Brellas stamp and die set. I stamped the stripes for the towels in Tiara and Melon Ice. The umbrellas are stamped in Do-Si-Do and Fiesta Blue. Then they were cut out with the coordinating dies. I glued the yellow blanket straight to my card base. I used thin foam squares on back of the green blanket. I used more foam squares to pop up the umbrellas. Finally I stamped the sentiment from Va-Cay Mode (which has so many fun summer sentiments) in black ink at the bottom of my card. This card is simple but feels cheery because of the bright, summery colors.

Waffle Flower’s April Release has a beautiful variety of blooms! I just know you are going to love it!
The Painted Flowers Background Die and Stencil work together to make a beautiful card quickly! I used shades of pinks and yellows on the stencils along with some gold spatter. The sentiment is from the Print & Script Take Care Die. I used 3 layers on all of my dies to add dimension.
The Wild Flowers Stencil is such a well thought out stencil set! Not only does it give layers that create beautiful blooms, it also has etched color suggestions on the stencils for the flowers, taking the guesswork out for those days when you just don’t know what colors to choose. I topped it with the Oversized Bloom Print Die and an embossed sentiment from the Small Sentiments Bloom Stamp Set. I also added a few Clean and Clear Enamel Dots. This card feels so cheery and perfect for Spring!
The Pop-Up Tulips Panel Die and coordinating Lovely Tulips Stencil Duo are perfect for making beautiful Spring cards quickly. I used Concord & 9th Inks in the colors Watermelon, Marmalade (retired), Buttercup, Fig, and Parsley. I added gold glitter paper behind the tulip panel. I topped it with a vellum circle, gold thread, and the print version of the Print & Script Get Well Die Set. I think this card would cheer up anyone who is feeling under the weather!

I love making cards but at times the process can take a long time and sometimes I want to complete a card (or several cards) in one sitting. Card kits are a great way to help make the process speedy but still beautiful!
Today’s cards feature Spellbinders – Rosie’s Studio – Heartfelt Collection – Card Maker’s Kit. This kit includes a 6″ x 6″ printed paper pad of sweet, love-themed designs, two sheets of chipboard embellishments, a package of puffy stickers, and glitter foam stickers. I love how all these products coordinate and work together seamlessly. I combined the kit with some exclusive products from Scrapbook.com to make four fun, cute, and fairly quick cards.
For my first card, I started with two of the patterned papers from the kit: a lovely pink floral paper, and a white and gold foil geometric paper. I used A2 rectangle dies to cut each piece just a little smaller than an A2 card. Then I trimmed the floral paper at an angle and adhered it over the other patterned paper using tape runner. I adhered both to a heavyweight cardstock and popped them up on an A2 card base using foam tape. Next, I die cut a heart out of Lawn Fawn Vellum using Hero Arts Infinity Dies Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies. I adhered the ampersand chipboard on top of that. Then I placed foamtape on the back of the heart behind the ampersand to adhere it to the card without showing through the vellum. I topped it off with a couple more chipboard embellishments and a few glitter foam heart stickers.
I followed the same first steps to make my second card, using a light green and a colorful heart patterned paper. I used the Scrapbook.com Birthday Banners dies to create a pink and yellow birthday banner. The pink cardstock comes from the Sprinkles Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad and the yellow is from the Daybreak Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad. (Sidenote: I love all the beautiful colors in these paper pads and they are a perfect weight for diecutting.) I diecut 2 layers of cardstock for the base of the banner and for the letters to add dimension. I glued them to the top portion of the panel and then added heart and “wonderful you” puffy stickers to add extra interest. I love how quickly this card came together and I love how all the embellishments tie in so nicely with the patterned paper.
For my third card, I used two more pieces of patterned paper: a pale blue simple plaid and a lovely floral with touches of gold foiling. I followed Jennifer McGuire’s steps of making a Split Window Card Design but instead of stamping along the left side I used more patterned paper and in the window, I added chipboard embellishments. I used a thin strip of matte gold cardstock to echo the gold in the paper. This card came together quickly but feels a little fancier to me because of the circular window on the card.
My final card might be one of my favorites simply because I really love bunnies! I used Scrapbook.com’s Nested Peeps Dies (so cute!) to diecut 9 bunnies from various patterned papers and 9 more from heavyweight white cardstock. I glued the the patterned bunnies to the white bunnies and arranged them on the card in a 3 x 3 pattern. I took a photo once I liked the arrangement and placed my stamp where I wanted it. Then, I used my Misti to stamp “some bunny loves you” from the Hello Spring stamp set. I stamped it in Pebble ink, my favorite light warm gray from Concord & 9th. Then I consulted my photo to put back my bunnies and popped them up with foam tape. I added puffy circle stickers in various colors for the bunny tails. I love these cute colorful bunnies!

My first card features the StrawberriesBackground Stencil. When I first saw this stencil, I knew I wanted to try a unique color combo. I googled “Strawberry Prints” and found several fun color combinations, including one similar to this.
I started with A2 panel of Concord & 9th Poppy Cardstock. I then used the first layer of the stencil with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Ink. For the second layer, I used Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Ink for the blueberries and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink. I let it dry for a while and the used the third layer of the stencil along Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink. I found a foam blending brush worked best. I also found a pressing motion worked better than a swirling motion, especially with the pigment ink.
For the sentiment, I used white embossing powder on a strip of dusty blue paper (cut at angle on one side) and heat embossed “You are the berry best” from the Sweet PlatesSentiments Stamp Set. (I love all the cute sentiments in this set!) Finally a cut a strip of pink gingham paper from the Berry SweetGingham Paper Pad and adhered it to the panel. I added the sentiment on top of that. I added it all to the top of an A2 card base.
I love how the oxide and pigment inks paired with colored paper give a unique look to the card and allow for endless color combinations. I’m excited to try it with dye inks on white paper to get a completely different look.
I love the StrawberriesDie! For this card, I used classic red and green colors (Poppy and Evergreen cardstock from Concord & 9th) for the strawberries with a touch of gold for the seeds. For the white flowers, I added a little yellow inkblending (Buttercup from C9) to the middle before adding on the yellow centers. I added a heat embossed sentiment from the Sweet Plates Sentiments. I adhered them all onto a Nectar panel cut from the previously released Nesting Rounded Rectangle Dies. It all pops nicely on top of the white A2 card base.
If you want to mass produce strawberries, then them the Multiple Strawberries-Die-n-Stencil is for you! I used a blend of red and green inks for the strawberries and Gold Rush Lunar Paste for the seeds. (I still have another set of strawberries for another card!) Then, I diecut the Sweet Plaid Panel Die three times, stacked the layers and glued them for dimension. Next, I created a red ombré inkblend over a panel and then used the Sweet Plaid Texture Die on the panel. I topped it off with my strawberries and a sentiment from the Sweet Plates Sentiments. This card has tons of texture and dimension but came together so quickly!
My final card features this beautiful plaid patterned paper from the Berry Sweet Gingham Paper Pad. It coordinates perfectly with the Sweet Plaid Panel Die (which I again layered three times for dimension). The sentiment is from the Sweet Lattice Sentiments–another beautiful and versatile sentiment set from JJ Bolton! The matching dies make it easy to add the sentiments anywhere. I popped up some pink glittery flowers from the Strawberries Die to add some sparkle to the card.

Hello Crafty Friends! I am so excited to join the Waffle Flower Design Team and to share with you about this amazing release. I really think you are going to love it! For my first card, I used the the six-pane window from the WindowSceneDie six times. I glued five layers together then added a piece of acetate before gluing one final piece on top. This gave me thick enough boxes to hold glitter. Next, I went to work making the background. First, I tore a piece of paper at angle. I ink blended over it slightly on a white A2 card base with a light blue ink to create subtle mountains. I flipped over the same torn paper and moved it up to create the second mountain.
Then, I added in details. I used deer, pine trees, and the gondola dies from the Winter Scene Die. To get the pine trees to look snowy, I used an embossing ink pen and then added white embossing powder to the branches and heat set it. That didn’t give me quite enough snow so I smooshed the whole tree in embossing ink and sprinkled embossing powder over it before heat setting it with my heat tool. I used a similar technique for the bare trees and bush (originally a treetop) which are from the WindowSceneDie. The deer were cut out of Kraft cardstock. I used post it tape to cover the antlers and ink blended the rest of the deer with brown ink so that the body of the deer was darker. The gondola was cut from matte silver cardstock and stacked multiple times to add dimension. The stamped cable for the gondola and the “Thanks Snow Much” sentiment are from the Winter Scene Stamp Set.
I made sure the items were thoughtfully placed within the window squares before gluing them down. Then I added a small scoop of a white sparkly glitter to each square before adhering the window panel to my card base.
This card makes me feel like I’m sitting in cabin feeling cozy and relaxed!
For my second card, I used the new Postage Collage Mini Slimline Die and Postage Collage Mini Slimline Blocks Stencil. I love the original Postage Collage Die and I’m so excited that Waffle Flower is adding to this collection!
I first started by die cutting the postage stamps a few times from white cards stock and stacking them for added thickness. Then I ink blending the background in shades of aqua, olive, and mustard. Next, I stamped trees on one, a cabin on another, and deer on my third. These stamps are from the Winter Scene Stamp Set. I embossed the cabin in Brutus Monroe’s Penny Embossing Powder and the deer in Brutus Monroe Gilded Embossing Powder. I used a blending brush to add a subtle shading and ground the deer. I added postage markings using the Postage Collage Stamp Set.
I used the second largest die from the Mini Slimline Stitched Rectangles Die to die cut three stitched panels for the front of my card. I love having lots of dimension so I glued these three layers together. I then arranged the postage stamps with space in the middle for a sentiment (but didn’t glue yet).
The sentiment was too long to fit so I cut it in half. (Don’t fret! It still fits nicely back together and works as one long sentiment as well.) I took a photo of where I place the postage stamps so I could remember how I like them. Then I inked it up the stamps using my MISTI and black ink and stamped it in the middle. Note: When I want to make sure things are well-centered, I pull out a zero centering ruler. If you’ve never tried one, they are very helpful. They have zero in the middle and equal measurements on each side, such as one inch out in each direction.
I referred back to my the picture I’d take and placed back the postage stamps, but the card felt like it was missing something. I decided to add thin strips out of aqua, matte gold, olive, and mustard card stocks that I coordinated with the ink colors I had used. I pulled out a piece of printer paper and used tape runner to adhere the strips to the paper. I cut off the excess printer paper and cut my row of strips in half. I placed one set of the strips going under the top stamps and and the other going under the bottom. Finally, I glued everything down with Bearly Arts Precision Craft Glue. I used foam strips to pop up the small postage stamp with the cabin to give it a little extra lift. I adhered the whole panel to
I love Mini Slimline cards and can’t wait to create more with the mini slimline goodies in this release!
My third card is A7 size. I have never created larger cards like these but I definitely see more of them in my future! I think A7 is great when you want more space for your image(s) or for writing a larger message in a card. My husband loves to snowboard so I created this card with him in mind!
First I created an A7 card base out of teal cardstock. I used one of the dies from the A7 Additional Layers Die to cut out a three white panels and glued them together. I used the same teal cardstock from earlier to cut out a frame from A7 Nesting Rectangle Frames Die and glued it onto the white panel.
Next, I got to work stenciling and die cutting snowboards. I stenciled various combinations or red, orange, yellow, green, teal, and blue using the Snowboard Die-n-stencil and Shader Brushes 1+ to make 12 snowboards. Then I die cut them all out using the Empress Die Cut Machine. (Note: While this machine is expensive, it is truly an amazing workhorse. I used to think people who enjoyed die cutting mass amounts of things were crazy, but this makes it easy and so much faster. If it is in your budget, I can’t recommend it enough!)
After that, I diecut the snowboard bindings out of a light gray cardstock. I wanted to add some dimension to the look of them. After adhering the pieces for the bindings together and gluing them to the snowboards, I used a Shader Brush 2+ brush and some light gray ink to add shading. It’s subtle but I love the extra dimension it adds to the look.
Then I adhered all the snowboards with to the white and teal panel at an angle. I trimmed off any snowboards sticking off the edge of my panel with my trimmer. Finally, I topped it off with a sentiment from the Subsentiments Snow Diecut (which are my favorite for quick and easy sentiments). I used foamstrips to adhere them for one last extra bit of dimension.
My final card features the Abstract Shapes Die. This set is so fun and versatile!
I started with an A2 card base. I diecut a slightly smaller panel using the A2 Layers Die. I used the Quilting Texture Die to add a stitched background to my panel. I adhered my panel to the card base.
Then, I die cut various abstract shapes out of the shades of Concord and 9th Cardstock in Honeycomb, Carnation, Sea Glass, and Nectar Cardstock. I cut some out twice and adhered them together for added dimension. I fiddled around with where I wanted them before deciding on this layout and adhered it all with Bearly Arts Precision Craft Glue.
Next, I used the Bold Alpha Die to die cut the letters to make “HELLO” out of Concord & 9th’s Gold Glitter Paper. I also die cut the letters out of white for extra dimension. Note: When stacking and gluing the letters, I cut the top right side of the off of the white layer of the “O” so that it would stack evenly while overlapping the nectar circle.
I love all the texture and color on this card. I hope you do too!

My first card features the Catitude Die. I started by cutting down two panels to measure 3.75″ x 5″. On the first panel, I arranged all the adorable cat dies across the panel and ran them through my die cut machine. I made sure the cats on the edges were facing in toward the middle of the card as it helps draw the eye into the center of the card. (That is a trick I learned when arranging photos to create yearbook pages in high school many years ago.)
On the second panel, I ink blended Hero Arts Reactive inks in Fruit Punch, Lemon Drop, and Pool Party of ink to create a rainbow background.
Then I adhered the die cut panel to the ink blended panel using foam tape. I glued the panel to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base. Lastly I added the sentiment “I meow you” from the Subsentiments Cat Diecut. I love how these preprinted, precut sentiments make for a quick finish to a card! (Tip: I like to color the edge of the sentiments with a black alcohol marker so the paper appears black even from the side.)
For my second card, I also used the Catitude Die because those cats are just so cute! This time I just die cut the heads of the cats by lining up the dies along the edge of my card stock. (I made sure to leave enough of the neck to have a place to glue.) I used shades of black, gray, brown, orange, and white cardstock, but I think a rainbow or ombré version of the cats would be so cute too.
I also used the previously released Hearts Panel Die (one of my favorites), which I die cut three times out of white card stock and glued together. I glued the cat heads into the opening on the hearts. Again, I made sure the heads on the edges faced toward the middle or forward.
Next, I ink blended the front of my card base with various shades of teal to create an ombré background. Then I adhered the panel to the base. I stamped the sentiment “Love you fur-ever” from the Purrfect Sentiments Stamp Set onto aqua cardstock with Versamark ink. I used white embossing powder and heat set it. I love when sentiment stamps have coordinating dies! I used the Purrfect Sentiments Matching Die to die cut out the sentiment and I glued the sentiment toward the bottom right corner. I think this card is a great way to say I love you to the cat lover in your life!
My third card uses several products from the new release. First, I die cut the Three-Tiered Shelf Die once out of a wood veneer sheet and twice out of white cardstock. I love how the wood adds a realistic look and how the extra layers of cardstock add dimension.
The details are really what make this card pop though! I die cut the Shelf Ad-ons and the Cat-a-log Dies out of white card stock. I used a variety of Waffle Flower Blending brushes to color in the all the pieces in various shades of blue, green, and teal. (Their brushes help give a smooth blend. If you’re looking for new brushes, look no further! Waffle Flower now carries a 4-pack Shader Brush PLUS Sampler so you can try out their new brushes before deciding on which sets to purchase.)
It was so fun to add details to this card. I added Glossy Accents to the small planter and clock face to add some shine. I used the Cat-a-log Stamp Set to decorate and add more cute cat details to the books. I die cut more cats from the Cattitude Die, but this time out a black velour paper for some more texture.
I taped off about 1.5 inches at the bottom of my card base and ink blended over it with a gray ink to simulate carpet. Then I assembled all the pieces together and onto the card base with glue. I topped it all off with another sentiment from the Subsentiments Cat Diecut.
The last card is actually the inside of my card. Waffle Flower has lots of fun Pop-up dies and this one is no exception! The Inside Pop-up Shelves Die is a great way to add a surprise to the inside of your card. I lined up the dotted cut line of the die with center of a pre-folded card. (I decided to trim down about a quarter inch off the card base, making it closer to 4″ x 5.25.”) It is easy to pop out the pieces and get the shelves and surrounding area glued into another card base.
I used the same die on another sheet of wood veneer. I used scissors to cut out the wood veneer shelf pieces and then glued them to the white ones. Then I decorated the shelves with a plant from the Shelf Add-ons Die and more velour cats from the Cattitude Die. I ink blended over the books (taping off the edges in between colors) and attached the cats and plant with glue. The sentiment “Every day is Caturday” is another one from the the Purrfect Sentiments Stamp Set.

Spring is just less than a week away and I can hardly wait! It’s my favorite season. I love the flowers blooming and the greenery coming back to life. I love all the signs of new life and all the adorable spring animals. Since I was little, one of my favorite animals has always been bunnies. There is just something about those long ears, fluffy tails, and twitchy noses that warms my heart. So when I saw the Bunch of Bunnies Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, I knew I had to have it!I used this stencil to make two cards (and I’m sure there will be many more).
For the first design, I used Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink to blend over the stencil onto Kraft Card Stock. (I have a blending brush set aside for this ink.) Then I trimmed the panel down to be 4” by 5¼” . I adhered the panel with foam tape to a white A2 card base.
Next, I used some alphabet stamps (Lawn Fawn Smitty’s ABCs) to create the message “Hoppy Birthday!” I stamped it with VersaMark Ink on a pale pink cardstock and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I used a heart die to cut this out and then mounted it to the card with foam tape.
Finally, I added 5mm puff white pom poms (because what’s a bunny without its tail?!) I wish I had trimmed the panel differently so that the top was bunny bottoms and I could have included more bunny tails, but this still works.
For my second card, I pulled out my gel plate to create a background of pink, coral, and yellow. I pounced the Distress Oxide Inks in Kitsch Flamingo, Saltwater Taffy, and Squeezed Lemonade onto the gel plate and then lightly blended them with a brayer. I, then, placed my paper onto the gel plated to pull up the color. I used the ink left on the brayer to add some additional color to my background. I played around with putting the panel on the gel plate and brayering onto the panel until I was happy with the blend of colors. I set the panel aside to dry overnight. (I created a few backgrounds at this time and can use the additional ones on future cards.)
The next day, I went over the colorful panel with an antistatic powder tool and then used my same White Pigment Ink to blend over the stencil. When I was done, I added white embossing powder over the bunnies. I heat set the embossing powder and repeated the process to create more dimension on the bunnies. Next I trimmed my panel down so I had two rows of bunnies and it was 4.25” wide. I adhered this to the upper portion of a white A2 card base, leaving a bit of white space at the top. Then I added three white 5mm pom poms for tails on a few of my bunnies.
For the sentiment, I pulled this “Hello, Spring” stamp from the Simon Says Stamps Front Porch Doormat Sayings Stamp Set. I used my MISTI and stamped it in Concord and 9th Honeysuckle Ink but felt that the pink was a little too bold for this card. To soften it, I shifted the card very slightly in the MISTI and stamped over the sentiment again with VersaMark Ink. Then I poured Brutus Monroe Rose Gold Metallic Embossing Powder over it and heat embossed it. The slight shifting of the card made it so that there is a cool shadow effect on the sentiment.

Hello again Crafty Friends! Today I’m sharing another card made with a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I’m so glad they invited me to be a guest designer for the month of March because I’m having so much fun playing around with their stencils.
One of my favorite things about stencils is how easily they transform white cardstock into the look of beautiful patterned paper in colors of my choice. To create this background, I inkblended over the Changing Dots Stencil on a half sheet of white cardstock with blender brushes. I used Hammermill Premium Color Copy Cover 100 lb. This paper is great to achieve a smooth blend. The inks are Hero Arts Hero Hues Reactive Inks in Berry Smoothie, Fruit Punch, and Lemon Drop. These inks give a beautiful, smooth blend in bright, bold colors.
After I removed the stencil, I used the ink left on my blender brushes to blend back over the white space. This leaves a lighter wash of the colors, allowing the polka dots to stand out but also softening the look. Next, I used a rectangle die cut to cut the paper into a 4” x 5 ¼ panel. I diecut two more rectangles in the same size and glued them together for dimension. Then I adhered this panel to a A2 ( 4¼” by 5½”) top folding notecard.
I then cut out the dandelion using the Pinkfresh Studio Floral Squares Die three times. I stacked and glued the diecuts together to add dimension. I wanted to soften the square behind them so I used a square die to cut out a piece of vellum the same size as the square around the dandelion. I also diecut a square of Scrabook.com’s Clear Double Adhesive roll. I used this to adhere the vellum to the card without showing any glue (which is always the tricky part of working with vellum). I added the layered floral die cut over that with glue.
The “Happiest Wishes” sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips All Things Happy. I used a black Sharpie to color the white edges black and then adhered it to the card with a thin foam strip.

Hello Friends! I’m so excited to be guest designing for A Colorful Life Designs for the month of March. While I was gifted these beautiful stencils, I picked them out myself and my thoughts and opinions are my own. (And spoiler alert: I really love them!)
Today, I want to share with you my first design using the Delicate Flowers Stencil. I began by ink blending white pigment ink on Kraft cardstock. I removed the stencil and let the ink dry for about 15 minutes. (If I was using dye inks over it, I probably would have waited even longer or used a heat tool to set the white pigment ink.)
Next, I replaced the stencil shifting it just a little down and to the right. This leaves a little bit of the white showing and helps gives the flowers extra dimension. Then I inkblended over the stencil again in three different colors of Distress Oxide Inks: Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Salvaged Patina. I made sure to overlap these colors to get a little bit of orange and green in between. The more you overlap, the more of those in between colors you’ll get.
When I was done, I used a rectangle die to trim the Kraft cardstock into a panel measuring 3.75 x 5 inches. I used foam tape to mount the cardstock onto a side opening A2 white card base. I diecut the Pretty Blossom Stem from Memory Box three times from white cardstock and glued the layers together. I liked how the flower looked best hanging off the card a bit so I trimmed off the leaves and stem that were hanging off. I then looked through my stash of sentiments and found this “you’re the best” sentiment from the Positive Vibes Clear Stamp from Essentials by Ellen. It is white embossed on black cardstock.
I love how this card feels so cheery and bright and the stencil made creating a beautiful background so easy!
